Vocational Education Training (External)
“Students at Hunter Christian School are offered personalised guidance, mentorship, and career planning. We assist students by transforming their academic excellence into successful professional opportunities. Our students have access to platforms such as JobJump and a dedicated Careers area within Canvas where they receive frequent updates. In addition, from Stage 5, our students begin the process of thinking about their career, and work on the transferable skills required.”
Vocational Education Training (Internal)
Your Path to Success
TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) and EVET (Externally Delivered Vocational Education and Training) offer secondary students practical learning opportunities that build real-world skills and industry experience. These programs connect classroom learning with hands-on training in areas such as trades, business, information technology, health, hospitality, and more—helping students gain recognised qualifications that are valued by employers and tertiary institutions.
Why Students Should Consider TVET / EVET
- Students achieve nationally recognised certificates alongside the Higher School Certificate, increasing future study and employment options.
- Courses are designed and delivered by educators with industry experience, so content aligns with workforce trends and demands.
- TVET/EVET often include valuable workplace experiences, which can boost confidence, employability, and give clarity on career direction.
- These pathways are especially suited to students who want to learn by doing, explore careers early, or combine academic study with practical skills.
Choosing TVET or EVET empowers students to turn passion into potential, laying the foundation for successful careers and lifelong learning.
